Why is a Recall Appointment Necessary?
Toothcrafters Denture and Implant Centre wants your dentures to look and feel comfortable. That’s why it’s important to learn how to properly maintain them to ensure they perform at their optimum. We recommend regular check-ups at our clinics across Ontario to ensure you and your dentures both get the care and attention you deserve. Why are these check-ups necessary? Here’s how your dentures affect various parts of your mouth:
Tissues & Bones
Over time, your mouth will go through many natural changes, including tissue shrinkage and loss of underlying bone (resorption). While your mouth undergoes these changes, your dentures will not and they may no longer fit the same way.
An annual oral examination is recommended to prevent or detect the existence of oral cancer and other abnormal oral conditions.
Medical or Dental History
Updating your medical and dental history is an important step towards quality denture treatment.
Fit & Bite of Your Existing Denture
Worn-out dentures can cause improper fit and bite, which in turn can lead to other problems. This can also cause changes in your ability to bite, your speech and your appearance.
The Integrity of Your Dentures
Your Toothcrafters' denturist will check your dentures for cracks, chips, scratches and worn or loose teeth.
What to Expect During Your Recall or Recare Visit
